A lone prototype photo can serve as the basis for modeling structures, rolling stock, details and sometimes entire scenes. This clinic presents twenty prototype photos and a variety of HO and O Scale models that were built from them. In addition to mockup and construction techniques, painting and weathering approaches will be described for a full account of how each model was developed and completed. |

Needing an engine shed in a very confined space, I designed and built an engine shed from scratch, rather than kit bash an existing kit. I decided to try building the structure from card stock, and employing various surface laminations to simulate the stone foundation, brick walls and roof shingles. |
