Unfortunately the Super Saying did not make it in time for this space. I do not know who is unluckier, me for having to write this, or you for having to read it. Though you can stop at any time, but I have a lot of white space to fill.

The September trip to Marion was blessed with fine weather. Fred Schneider arrived there early and saw a lot of trains, unfortunately traffic was a little light in the afternoon. The opportunity to see and operate the AC tower interlocking machine is worth a trip by itself. The machine was taken out of service in 1995 and is in near perfect condition. The restorer had to reinstall one lever that had been removed. They plan on animating the model board so that you can easily imagine a train passing over the selected route.

The restoration of the station seems to be proceeding slowly. There is a lot of work completed and it really is a great station.

The Marion Model Railroad Club has a nice layout. It is open Sundays from 2-5 PM. It features a long mainline and a well detailed, operational traction line. It also has a fairly extensive narrow gauge line. The Marion Union Station Association is holding a model railroad flea market on December 2nd. I have gone up there the last few years and can recommend it.

The preparations for the Division 3 show are proceeding at a fast pace. There are still a lot of unsold dealer tables. The layout room is full and we are looking for people to put on demonstrations or to talk to the public. The Division needs everyone's help to make the show operate.

The National Hobby Show is in Chicago on October 21 and 22. This is where most of the hobby manufacturers and distributors show off their products. A large part of the show is devoted to model railroading. It is at the Rosemont convention center near O'Hare airport. We have attended the last two years and find it well worth the trip. We take AMTRAK from Waterloo, Indiana to Chicago and the subway out to Rosemont. Lots of fun, but a long day.

The Division need a program chairman. If you are interested, please contact the Super. We also would like to create a publicity committee. The Division is still invisible to most of the model railroaders in our area.

If anyone is interested in an overnight trip to the Sebring Model Railroad Club open house on November 11, please contact J. Hedge (via the website address or his home phone if you have it --wm). The trip would include stops at the Warther Carving Museum in New Philadelphia and train watching in Alliance.
